Martta is built around a problem: most sleeper sofas need significant wall clearance when they open. Martta's bed opens arm-to-arm instead of out from the wall, which reduces the floor depth requirement to 67 inches, significantly less than frames using the Nest or Hybrid mechanism. The reversible chaise adds storage and a proper lounging surface without changing the deployment footprint.
The Flip mechanism opens in one step. The loose back cushions come off first, quick, then the seat flips forward and lays flat between the arms. One motion, fully manual. Luonto describes this as "Seat Flips Forward," which is accurate: the seat section rotates to become the sleeping surface without any hardware to extend. The chaise is a separate, fully upholstered unit that stays in place during conversion.
The full XL bed is 55 inches wide by 80 inches long. At 87 inches wide and 36.25 inches tall, Martta has more visual presence than most loveseat-scale sleepers. The built-in mattress is five inches of cold-cured, high-density HR foam, CertiPUR certified, Daily Sleeper rated. Seat height is 18 inches; seat depth is 22.75 inches. The chaise is 31.5 inches wide and 67 inches deep.
Frame is solid spruce, mortise-and-tenon joinery and birch plywood, FSC and PEFC certified, made in the EU. Over 100 fabrics and over 100 leathers. Four to six weeks from order.
Martta Full XL is for the apartment or room where wall clearance is genuinely constrained and you don't want to compromise on bed length.
