SAFE FRONT®

The active component is a biocide based Zinc Pyritione. This treatment acts permanently on bacteria and viruses.

Reduction of bacteria's ability to reproduce and reduces their population (ISO 20743:2013 8.1 certification was obtained demonstrating a reduction of the bacterial population of 99.9% in SAFE FRONT® fabrics after 24 hours).

Acts on virus lipid barrier and while in contact with water during cleaning facilitates its solubility. (ISO 18184:2019 certification was obtained demonstrating a reduction of more than 91% in the virus population after 2 hours of continuous contact with them).

All AquaClean® Fabrics are protected by SAFE FRONT® treatment.

PFC Free

All AquaClean® Fabrics are free from PFCs.

PFC (Perfluorocarbons) are artificial substances that have been used in the textile industry because they are efficient at repelling water, oils, grease and dirt in general. But their production processes, cleaning and elimination at the end of their lifespan convert theses compounds into a threat for human beings, as this type of substance can accumulate in fabric and potentially cause cancer. They are also a hazard for the environment, because they are not biodegradable and have an extremely long lifespan.

CertiPUR™-EU

CertiPUR™ is a voluntary testing, analysis and certification program for the environment, health and safety properties of polyurethane foam used in bedding and upholstered furniture applications. It specifies substances that may not be used in the production of the polyurethane foams and sets stringent maximum limits for some components.

Transparency

The certification is fully transparent. It rests on clear criteria that require firms to comply with restrictions concerning substances in foam which may be of concern for health or the environment. The foams of label holders are tested every year by independent laboratories to ensure that they continue fulfilling the specifications of CertiPUR. If a firm fails these checks it will have to take immediate remedial action. Further failure will lead to dismissal from CertiPUR and withdrawal of the right to use the label.

FSC® Wood Certification

Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) ensures that product come from responsibly managed forests tat provide environmental, social and economic benefits. The FSC® Principles and Criteria provide a foundation for all forest management standards globally.

The FSC® certification is on all of our dining and birch components.

GRS Certification

The Global Recycle Standard (GRS) was established in 2008. The GRS is an international, voluntary, full product standard that sets requirements for third-party certification of recycled content, chain of custody, social and environmental practices and chemical restrictions.

The GRS is intended to meet the needs of companies looking to verify the recycled content of their products (both finished and intermediate) and to verify responsible social, environmental and chemical practices in their production. The objectives of the GRS are to define requirements to ensure accurate content claims and good working conditions, and that harmful environmental and chemical impacts are minimized. This includes companies in ginning, spinning, weaving and knitting, dyeing and printing and stitching in more than 50 countries.

Oeko-Tex® Standard 100

The world's best-known labels for textiles tested for harmful substances. It stands for customer confidence and high product safety.

If a textile article carries the STANDARD 100 label, you can be certain that every component of this article, has been tested for harmful substances and that the article therefore is harmless for human health. The test is conducted by an independent OEKO-TEX® partner, on the basis of our extensive OEKO-TEX® criteria catalog.

In the test they take into account numerous regulated and non-regulated substances, which may be harmful to human health. In many cases the limit values for the STANDARD 100 go beyond national and international requirements. The criteria catalog is updated at least once a year and expanded with new scientific knowledge or statutory requirements. It is not easy for manufacturers and customers to keep an overview of the legal situation concerning harmful substances every day. Experts from the OEKO-TEX® institutes does this for you.

R.E.A.C.H. Certification

Reach (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals) is a regulation of the European Union, adopted to improve the protection of human health and the environment from the risks that can be posed by chemicals, while enhancing the competitiveness of the EU chemicals industry. It also promotes alternative methods for the hazard assessment of substances in order to reduce the number of tests on animals.

REACH applies to all chemical substances; not only those used in industrial processes but also in our day-to-day lives, for example in cleaning products, paints as well as in articles such as clothes, furniture and electrical appliances. Therefore, the regulation has an impact on most companies across the EU.

SMART Fabric

A performance fabric that uses a special protective coating, forming a water repellent layer which prevents rapid fluid seepage. This barrier is effective against both water- and oil-based substances.

The active ingredient in the protective coating is Hexa-Carbon Flouroacrylate Resin also known as C6 Resin. A Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) Free coating that creates a high durability water and oil repelling protection layer. This C6 compound provides the protective benefits without the harmful components found in C8 (PFOA) protectants.
