Certified Responsibility
Certified raw materials by globally recognized independent certifying bodies – meaning we take responsibility seriously.
Zero Wood Waste
Wood dust is collected from the mill and pressed into pellets. These pellets are used to heat the production lines during the Nordic's harsh winters. Surplus pellets are used to heat a local school, and nearby town buildings.
Committed to Quality Furniture
Crafted with specific intent to last more than 10 years. With both materials and assembly methodology, every product is built with a repairability mindset, significantly reducing product waste, protecting our planet.
Our Heritage, Built-in Sustainability
Our sustainable manufacturing practices are just part of our heritage, it's done simply because it's who we are and where we come from. Whether it's how we re-purpose our wood dust to form pellets for use a fuel for heating our production lines, or how we partner with local artisans who use our scraps instead of just considering it waste.
Forests in Finland are typically harvested once per generation, roughly every eighty years. Our family's forest is nearing the end of its lifecycle and will soon be harvested. Afterward, preparations are made for the following generation's care until it's once again ready for harvest.
Since the 17th century, management of Finland's forestry has been under government control. More recently, about a hundred years ago the emphasis on sustainable yields began, ensuring growth is always more than yield. Finland's forestry land is comprised largely of Northern Europe's native Nordic Spruce. Nearly 70% of Finland's timber output is exported globally.
We strive to partner with vendors who support our efforts, minimize our carbon footprint, secure our longevity and deliver fine functional furniture for many more years to come.
